• 316L stainless steel: economical, good toughness, medium pressures.

• Monel®, Inconel®, Hastelloy®: high resistance to chlorides, acids and temperatures >400 °C.
• Tantalum: superior against concentrated HCl, HNO3, H2SO4.
• Phenolic graphite: extremely resistant to acid mixtures, low maintenance.
• Fluoropolymer (PTFE/FEP): used as a seal in composite discs. The choice depends on corrosivity, temperature range, cycling and budget. Always validate chemical compatibility using the manufacturer's tables.
