• Check flow direction and tag.
• Clean the flanges; do not use abrasive sealing compounds.
• Fit gaskets only if the manufacturer authorizes it.
• Tighten the bolts in a cross pattern to the specified torque; excess torque deforms the diaphragm and alters the burst pressure.
• Align the nameplate so it is visible during inspection.
• On valve+disc combinations, keep the recommended spacer spool to avoid interference; install a pressure gauge or test valve to monitor the intermediate space.
