Proper installation ensures that the disc opens at the set pressure and does not fail prematurely. The essential steps are:
- Verify the flow direction using the arrow tag.
- Clean flanges, gaskets and the disc surface; avoid scratches or burrs.
- Apply bolt torque in a star pattern according to the manufacturer's table; excessive torque deforms the diaphragm, while low torque causes leaks.
- Use approved gaskets; never fit additional unspecified gaskets.
- Perform a low-pressure leak test to confirm there are no leaks.
In reusable insert-type holders, check the condition of the disc holder and replace the sealing rings if they show wear or corrosion.
